Pope authorizes canonizations of 7 blesseds, but dates are not known due to the pandemic

The Pope has highlighted “the example of Christian life and exemplary holiness” of seven blesseds, authorizing their canonization.

He has done it in the first public consistory to promulgate canonization decrees since the beginning of the pandemic. It consists of 4 priests, 2 nuns and a lay person.

“Lazarus, called Devasahayam, layman, martyr

Cesar De Bus

Luigi Maria Palazzolo

Giustino Maria Russolillo

Charles de Foucauld, diocesan priest

Maria Francesca di Gesù

Maria Domenica Mantovani ”.

They are models of holiness with very varied spiritualities. From the French religious and mystic Charles de Foucauld; the first Indian layman to be beatified after acknowledging his martyrdom, Lazarus, called Devasahayam; or the Italian nun Maria Domenica Mantovani, who dedicated her life to caring for the poor and orphans.

During this type of consistories, the date of the canonization ceremony is usually announced, although this time it has not been the case due to the pandemic.
