The All Saints Catholic Church, Ashalaja, a fast growing community in the Kpehe Deanery of the Accra Archdiocese launched her annual harvest today. The celebration of the Mass as well as the harvest launching was done by Rev. Fr. Hilary Agbenosi who joined the community today for this special event.

The Church was able to put up a temporary chapel (Parish hall) on a portion of their land by the then Priest in-charge Rev. Fr. Mathias Gyato to enable them have a proper place of worship as they used to worship under a small shed in the compound of one Mr. Fredrick Lomotey who is the catechist of the church. The structure has a 2bedroom apartment at the storey which is meant to house the priest.

This year’s harvest is therefore in aid of completing the 2bedroom mission house to enable the church have the golden opportunity to be given a priest to live with them as the current Priest of the Church Rev. Fr. Patrick Quarcoopome always drive from St. Joseph the worker rectorate, Obom to celebrate Mass and take care of other activities which is at least 40 minutes drive coupled with the very bad nature of the road.

This made it impossible to access a priest at all times making this harvest very dear to heart of the All Saints Community. The Church though a small community set a target of GHc100,000.00 to enable them complete the mission house.

Church members were given the opportunity to pledge an amount they want to give to God towards the harvest be it weekly, monthly or an outright payment. The 5th of December 2021 is the day the church will climax the harvest.
