The youth of St. James Parish in Osu have donated Personal Protective equipment to the Nima Government Clinic here in Accra. The donation which is the youth’s Lenten project was made on Easter Monday, 5th April at the clinic.
The chairperson of the St. James Parish youth council, Ms Afua Obenewaa Aidoo stated that the donation was their Lenten observation and as such, the youth council decided to reach out to a community that needed help. All options were weighed and the Nima Government Clinic stood out.
Receiving the items on behalf of the clinic, Dr Alexander Balinia Adda, the Senior Medical Officer in Charge mentioned the donation was very timely as the clinic was facing a lot of challenges with equipment to work with. He expressed his utmost gratitude to the youth and also appealed to them and the parish to come to their aid in purchasing an ultra-modern labour bed for the maternity ward.
Items donated include tissue papers, hand sanitisers, Veronica buckets and stands, nose masks, liquid soaps, disposable gowns and coats, gloves, goggles, urine bags and syringes.
